What is a good at home remedy for hardining my finger nails?

I eat and drink dairy daily and even bought the Sally Hanson brand nail polish hardening bottle and still didn't work. My nails keep peeling and breaking and the other day it ripped so far up it started to bleed! Any help? What is a good at home remedy for hardining my finger nails?
I, too, have soft nails. I know, it sucks. According to skin care expert Paula Begoun, there isn't a whole lot we can do to change this, as this is one of the things genetics predetermines. She says that those Sally Hansen ';nail strengtheners'; are completely bogus.

But she also says there are a lot of things you can do to make your nails stronger. One major thing is not to push back the cuticle too much. It will help your nails grow. Also, moisturize and put sunscreen on the cuticle to help keep it healthy, which will help the nails grow.

Do not ever file your nails when they are wet, and try not to file them too much in general! This weakens the nail structure. You should definitely wear regular nail polish as much as possible, but do NOT soak your nails for extended periods when giving yourself a manicure, as this will weaken the nail, too.

If you really feel that there is something wrong with your nails, or if it seems abnormal to you, you should see a dermatologist. But if it's just that you're frustrated (and I know the feeling), just try to keep your nails polished, which will help to keep them from breaking!

p.s. Gelatin doesn't work... your nails are dead. They can't soak anything up that will change their cellular structure. Paula Begoun says: ';no form of food goes directly to nails or hair to help it grow.';What is a good at home remedy for hardining my finger nails?
Gelatine makes the nails hard (and also gives you healthy hair). try eating some more Jell-O. there's also a Knox gelatine for drinking. i had thise before in orange flavor and you drink it as a juice drink. don't know if they still make them.
