I have been told it is from some kind of minor injury to the nailWhy do people get white spots on their finger nails?
Lack of Zinc in your diet...

Along with calcium and iron, zinc is probably the most important mineral to the human body. A zinc deficiency can cause everything from acne to diabetes as zinc makes the insulin (the hormone that regulates glucose levels in the blood), eliminates harmful toxins, and maintains a healthy immune system.

Try taking supplements or eat more foods rich in zinc like meat (lamb in particular), oats, eggs, nuts and oysters.
heres a little folk tale,

they say if you tell a lie those white spots will pop up,

but knowing me all my nails should be completely white,

but yeah its just a minor injury to the nail,

no need to get scared or anything.
This usually indicates a zinc deficiency.
