Can you get diseases from biting your finger nails?

I bite my finger nails a lot and am worried about getting diseases.Can you get diseases from biting your finger nails?

I dont think you can, unless you bite down so that they bleed, then there is a possibility of an infection, but if not.


If you mean getting a desease because you put your fingers in your mother to bite them, then yes, you probably could, but fingernails are fairly clean parts of your body, the odd of getting infections from that are low
I am sure there are diseases that could be hiding under your finger nails if you have been exposed to them. Remember that our hands touch everything and in a sense everything you touch is going into your mouth. And odds are you are not washing everytime before you bite your nails.
not unless your fingernails have black things on the bottom cuz they are dirty. They might have diseasable dirt that can get into your mouth if you bite your nails. Just make sure to clean your nails daily!

a way to stop biting your nails is putting nail polish on cuz you dont want that getting in your mouth... ewwwwwwww...
You use your fingers to do a lot of things, and if you don't wash your hands, bacteria can build up and grow under your nails, and when you bite them, you can accidentally ingest some of that bacteria which could possibly get you sick.
Sure you can. You use your hands to touch things in your environment. Bacteria and germs can easily got on your skin and nails, and under your nails that can affect you. If you must bite, practice good hand washing techniques.
It is possible to have all sorts of dirt under your nails that you could ingest by biting your nails. Hepatitis and worms are two thing that come to mind.
