What sort of things can you tell about a persons health through finger nails?

I once heard that you could see how good oxygen circulation was by the size of the moons a the base of finger nails, also I've heard you could tell how dehydrated one was by how quickly they turned pink after squeezing them etc... Are these true and what other health secrets could be learned in the finger nails???What sort of things can you tell about a persons health through finger nails?
The redder the nail color is means that person has good oxygen circulation. You can also determine the persons capilary refill rate by pressing on the nails until they turn white and releasing them. A healthy persons nails will return to color (red) within 2-3 seconds, if it takes longer however, it could mean that you have blood flow problems. What sort of things can you tell about a persons health through finger nails?
White dots on the fingernail can show iron deficiency, height of ridges on the nail can determine if calcium amounts are to low or high, this is good for if bones need to be checked for thinning. Width of nail on the finger top is also an indication of a possible heart problem (this I know first hand, mine cover the complete top of my finger, had heart surgery at age 21, had a hole between the chambers of the heart) I have also heard that color can show other health problems, yellowing can show kidney or liver, blue can show lack of oxygen. Like the whites of the eyes they convey a lot about your health to the doctor.
I can tell you that if the nails curl over and under the tip of the finger, it's a sign of long-term decreased oxygen in the system. The lungs are compromised in some way- and a trip to the doctor is absolutely necessary.

Check out the link below, but, remember, a webpage never replaces a doctor.
The little white spots could indicate that you need a biotin supplement.
