My Gerbils have very long toe nails and finger nails how can i prevent this?

I have wood which they have nibbled through and give them cardboard daily. But the nails are still long!My Gerbils have very long toe nails and finger nails how can i prevent this?
Take them to a vet to get them clipped or ask your local pet shop they're have some sort of product to prevent this!

take them to the vet so they can be clipped. Don't clip them yourself otherwise you could do it wrong and hurt them. leave it to the experts.

You can clip them yourself. Just use your fingernail clippers, and don't cut into the pink area of the nail.
