you have not let your natural nails breathe and you have been applying nail polish without ever giving your nails a break. You may also be wearing nail polish for extended periods of times that the color begins to sink in to your natural nail. try using a base coat that will strengthen your nails. the color may be just remnants of the nail polish you used when you were taking it off. The nail polish stains them. it's a stain from the darker colors. fingernails are formed from dead skin cells -dead things don't need to ';breathe';.
